SIMILAR PLANT DISEASES

Rose Rosette Disease isn't of much interest to plant pathologists.  Many know the disease exists, but there is no funding and it isn't as important as diseases that threaten food crops.

There are, however, other diseases that are spread by Eriophyid mites and some have pathogens that have similar submicroscopic ultra structures.  The paper by Kin, Ahn, and Gergerich 2001 listed in the bibliography summarizes diseases with similar ultrastructures.

There are other mite transmitted diseases that have their own webpages.  Some of these show pictures of the mites and symptoms, some of which readers of this site will recognize.  These papers can lead to further readings as does the bibliography for this e-book.

Pigeonpea sterility mosaic virus

(The following poster session is an excellent summary, although the reddish brown color of the mite is disconcerting.)
